I loved Nada’s answer to a darshan question of August 8, 2017.
Answering a question about how one can find more time, in particular, time to do more spiritual work when one has a baby, Nada said, “tending her baby is her spiritual work right now”. What a great reminder! As a mother of an 11-month-old, a 3-year-old and a 6-year-old, I often feel the same way as this mother! And although I know it in my heart, it’s nice to be reminded when I feel frustrated about keeping up with the latest teachings or prayer services.
There were many lovely thoughts shared over 10 minutes in response to this question. Some that I especially resonated with were the idea of creating spiritual flashcards of the masters using their names and images. After hearing this, I created some with images that I found online. I haven’t printed them out yet since I made them full page color but I can show them on my computer. I’m not sure why it took me so long to make these since I have a cupboard full of flashcards myself! Oh, and when you do those flashcards, share spiritual teachings with your baby – tell them something about the master. Mental note to myself, do this!
Some other things that were mentioned included reading up on the teachings of Maria Montessori and using her teachings with our kids. To be honest, I’ve read some of her books and have some of her materials but I don’t really understand it all. Any parents out there that use Maria Montessori please chime in and share how you make her teachings part of your daily routine!
I loved that Nada mentioned about Glen Doman and teaching your baby to read at a young age. I did this myself with my two youngest children and now they read far above their level – my 3-year-old can read some of our decree book – though of course she doesn’t know what all the words mean – actually, neither do I, on occasion! My 6-year-old has enjoyed reading sections of Unveiled Mysteries. Now if that isn’t cool I don’t know what is! I was interested to find out that David used flashcards also with his own son, years ago.
Another thing was to imagine Mother Mary with baby Jesus. Imagine that Mother Mary is always with you and that the baby Jesus is always with your baby. And talk with her! I have images of the Holy Family and Mary with baby Jesus and I have invited her into my life to help me, but I don’t do it every day – or every hour. I do keep images of the angels and masters and fairies in my house as was recommended. I have always done so. We just laminate them ourselves and stick them up with blu-tac! Not the fanciest but you could also put them in frames.
I hope this short article has given you spiritual food for thought about parenting little ones when walking the path of the ascended masters! Thank you Nada for addressing the needs of “us” parents!
