There is a child within all of us and it can come alive so much when you care for and are around children. This is one of their gifts. Through being pure and in tuned themselves, they allow us to reach that same level of attainment. So, our children are really a gift to us! Though we at times may consider that we are a gift to them. Which we are, in a way, as well. We do need each other.

But, back to the child. It was Jesus who said that we must become like a little child to enter into the kingom of heaven. Jesus also commented that these little ones always behold the face of our Father in heaven. Perhaps it is because of their purity of heart. For as that beautiful Bible verse goes, “blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.” I always liked that one!

So, what thought do I wish to share with you, my friends, today? It is this. That when we serve our children, we are really serving ourselves! We are really serving the greatest example of purity and connection to God that we could ever have. It is a well known fact that children keep us young (yes, I know , they can age us too)! It is not only their running around at the park or desire to wrestle us on the couch. It is also their pure, fresh childlike view of the world. It was Einstein who spoke of imagination and curiousity. Two wonderful things, that children also possess.

When I see children (on YouTube, that is) that have great attainment or genius, I am awed. I feel I am in the presence of some great spirit and I believe I am. We all are. This is an exciting time to live when so many spiritually advanced souls are being born! To think that we are living on the same planet as they! How wonderful. Perhaps they are even in your own household?

Speaking of here and now, the child brings us back to the now. That too, is a spiritual lesson for us adults. Children are very good at living in the present. In fact, so good that we often tell them off for not thinking ahead of their actions!

To advance spiritually, we have to get out of our mind and into our heart. We have to get out of our adult sense and into a childlike sense. We have to get out of over-seriousness and into a playful attitude. God is the doer and we can relax. Thank God we have children to remind us to connect with the child within!
